#Management Tips - #Ways
to Boost Motivation
The brain consists of approximately 86 billion brain cells
and the vast neural fibers that connect them.
The combined length of all these neural fibers is about
500,000 kilometers.
This distance is enough to connect the Earth to the Moon and
circle the Earth three times. This many brain cells and neural fibers exist
within our brains.
The brain is most active when this massive network operates
in a coordinated and smooth manner. A study from the University of Wisconsin in
the US has shown that this is the state of a brain that feels happiness.
However, our brain's network is usually only utilized
partially, and only about 1% to 0.2% of the happy state of the brain is active.
Training is essential to maximize brain activation and
experience a happy state.

- Embracing
the Beauty of Gratitude:
Typically, people express gratitude when they receive something from
others. This is known as "beneficial gratitude." However, what
is recommended in brain training is "universal gratitude," or
appreciating the inherent beauty in things we often take for granted, like
simply being alive. From a neuroscientific perspective, when feelings of
gratitude are activated, the brain's frontal lobe is stimulated, enhancing
overall brain connectivity. Just as increasing muscle exercise strengthens
muscles, increasing moments of gratitude ensures the gratitude circuitry
functions more smoothly, promoting creative thinking and empathetic
behavior.
- Seeing
the Positive Beauty in Life: A positive mindset not only activates the brain but
also lets us see the beauty in every situation. However, the brain has a
trait known as "negative bias," which makes it more inclined
towards negative thoughts. Overcoming this bias increases the amount of
the pleasure chemical, dopamine, in the brain, making it easier to
maintain a positive mood.
- Living
Healthily and Beautifully: By maintaining a balance in diet, sleep, and
exercise, the brain is activated, and we can appreciate the beauty of a
healthy lifestyle. This promotes the secretion of the brain's neurotrophic
factors, supports the formation of synapses, and enhances cognitive
functions. However, excessive dieting or exercising can induce stress
responses in the brain, potentially leading to decreased function and
fatigue, so caution is necessary.
