Find beauty in differences, see destiny in the journey.

#How are you enjoying the arrival of spring, with the bright sunlight altering the shades of cherry blossom trees? The blooming season of spring marks a time when the cyclic nature of the seasons and the flow of a year are especially palpable. As cherry blossoms bloom, we may find ourselves reminiscing about the year past or casting our thoughts forward to the year ahead. Even moments from decades ago may suddenly resurface in our minds, accompanied by the sight of cherry blossoms. Amid the repeating cycle of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, the feelings we experience are not merely forgotten; rather, the changing natural world, such as the blooming and fading of flowers, seems to offer us opportunities for reunion with these past sentiments.

As the weather becomes more pleasant, please be mindful of the fluctuating temperatures that come and go. Take care to look after your health amidst these changes.

#Beware the Risks of Too Much Humility

Humility is a virtue in leadership—but being too humble can backfire. Here are three ways humility can undermine your leadership.

l  You may be perceived as indecisive. Democratizing every decision-making process can be misconstrued as a reluctance to take a stand, or a lack of conviction in your strategic vision. Don’t defer to consensus all the time. Instead, recognize that true humility isn’t about forfeiting your authority—it’s about confidently wielding it when you have to.

l  You may hinder your own career advancement. Deflecting praise or funneling all the credit down to your team can erase your own role in your team’s achievements. Dual-promotion, in which you compliment a colleague, peer, or team while also sharing your own personal accomplishments, can be a powerful way to walk the line between humility and confidence.

l  You may be limiting your team’s development. If you worry that delegating work to employees could be seen as oppressive or demotivating, you may actually be depriving them of opportunities to learn and grow. Understand that delegation isn’t strictly about offloading tasks, but rather about expanding your team’s capacity and resilience.

"In our differences, there is beauty, and in our paths, there is purpose. Embrace every journey for it is guiding us to our collective destiny."

#Diversify Your Internal Network

Professional relationships, like all interpersonal connections, tend to form between people who are similar. But to truly grow, it’s important to build a network that isn’t only made up of people just like you. Here’s how to broaden and diversify your internal network.

l  Look beyond “chemistry.” Don’t wait for connections to naturally pop up. Adopt a growth mindset instead. This means seeking out working relationships with new people who may have different backgrounds, skill sets, or values than you.

l  Make it a habit. Set up specific times to catch up and collaborate with these colleagues. Regularly scheduled interactions—not just casual, one-off encounters—will help you unlock a deeper rapport.

l  Harness curiosity. Instead of perceiving interpersonal differences as obstacles, try to see them as opportunities for growth and learning. Asking genuine questions about differing viewpoints, values, and experiences plays a crucial role in nurturing diverse relationships.

"We become excellent only by taking action." - Aristotle

Excellence and success are not born from a single action, but from repeated habits. Daily small actions accumulate, ultimately leading to great success.

Therefore, what are the habits, quirks, and personal rules you follow in your daily work?

Before I start work, I do a brief cleanup of my workspace. I save my desk for last. First, I spend about 10 to 15 minutes on the surrounding area, then I spend 5 minutes on my desk area. This habit has continued for over 30 years. I believe that keeping your immediate environment clean is the bare minimum of manners necessary to succeed in business and gain trust.

Let's make it a habit to clean. It's a matter of manners and etiquette.
