Medical Detox - Life is SSA message from Keiko Mizuno

Take a positive attitude! With this as my motto, I have taught about management so far. I have been teaching the importance of thinking critically and creatively by cultivating sensitivity continuously, through human sciences, brain sciences and communication sciences.

Mr. Katsuya NOMURA, who served as a manager of four professional baseball teams, died recently at the age of 84. He once said that he wanted to be the manager of a high school baseball team. This dream of his did not materialize. Let us all pray for his soul.

Until the last minute of his life, he left many famous sayings. At the age of 3, he lost his father and grew up in poverty. "Acute sense of inferiority and a good rivalry with ON (Sadaharu O and Shigeo Nagashima) supported me greatly”, so he says.

Helping his mother who knew nothing but hardships and disappointments was his only wish and he became a professional baseball player. He worked hard and had a lot of practice while others were at rest. He started his career as a trial player at the age of 18, but he was about to be dismissed in less than a year by the team. He desperately asked the team for giving him more chances and he kept working hard. In 1965, he won the “Triple Crown” and became the first winner of the Triple Crown after the world war two.

“Genius is nothing without effort”. With this motto learned from his background, he continued his efforts by studying the strengths and weaknesses of his opponents day in day out continuously and repeatedly. He continued his hard work as a player and achieved brilliant records and results.

As a manager, he accepted players who had been dismissed by other teams like in his case, and based on his belief that it was the mission of a manager to “find and nurture the potential, and make a dead tree blossom”, he superbly succeeded in motivating them, building their confidence and bearing fruit in the end. His baseball was later referred to and known as “Nomura Magic” or “Nomura Restoration Factory”

A good example of them is the case of Tsuyoshi Shinjo who was 27 years old at the time. He was having a batting slump. Mr. Nomura who had discovered his talent motivated Shinjo to become aware of own potential and possibilities. And, the other example was Masahiro Tanaka who was the number one pitcher in the Rakuten Eagles in his third year. Mr. Nomura did not give any advice to Tanaka, but only observed him in his firm belief that it was necessary for Tanaka to find solution to and overcome his problems for himself. “Learn from your mistakes!” This was his lesson!

As “we live among others” as written in Japanese characters, Mr. Nomura says that it is important to feel gratitude to others.

He inspires young people to hope and achieve by saying “Dream a big dream!” It is about what you want to do with your life, which is why having a clear dream is such an important element. So, he says, “have a big dream and enjoy your life”.

Look ahead and live hard and straight! Dream of the day when your dream has come true! Embrace the spirit of challenge to open up your future! Learn a lot from your mistakes!

Never feel dispirited and down!. As a professional of your life, try your best at everything! Eventually, your potential, talent and abilities will dawn on you!

The best thing about us is that we can find out our possibilities and make full use of them!

All of you who are capable of achieving your dreams and all of you who care about others can grow and eventually succeed! February 18, 2020ⒸKeiko Mizuno_KeishoGRM
